The proof that it is possible to change the course of a story:

A few years ago, when cancer was suspected in children and adolescents, it would take long for them to be referred to a specialized hospital and receive confirmation of the diagnosis. Usually the cancer was discovered at an advanced stage, as it would take about 60 days for the diagnostic test to start, distressing relatives, friends, and the child.

Starting point

Desiderata, concerned about the high number of child deaths in this scenario, brought together public managers, healthcare professionals, and institutions to create a new referral flow in the primary care units. The proof that it is possible to change the course of a story is that today, 91% of suspected cases were referred by primary care within 3 business days, which can increase the chances of cure up to 80% for children and adolescents with cancer.
